The boys hockey team scored a huge victory over top-seeded Moon on Thursday night, 3-1.

The goals were scored by senior Max Milan, junior Paul Knerr, and sophomore Nick Antonio.

Freshman Cole Shannon said the boys played great defense and kept the puck out of their zone.

“They were great in front of me and it made my job easier,” he said.

Senior Kenny Dee had high praise for Shannon.

Shannon played “the best I’ve ever seen him play. He had a phenomenal game,” Dee said.

The boys beat Moon in their first meeting earlier in the season, but suffered a defeat in their second match-up.

“We wanted it more since we lost last time we played them,” Dee said.

The hockey team now moves on to face Bishop Canevin at 6 p.m. Monday night at Robert Morris University.

Shannon said the team needs to play better with the puck if the Highlanders want to beat Bishop Canevin.

“We made a few too many mistakes moving the puck last game (against them),” Shannon said. “We need to handle our offensive possessions better.”
